Buffalo :)

(as of 6/28/12)

Wow, haha so the last couple of days have been crazy! :)  The transmission place was wonderful and they all worked extra hard and went the extra mile to ensure that we would be back on the road as soon as possible!  They assigned two mechanics to our RV, and I know the guy rebuilding the transmission stayed extra late to get it all done in one night!  They also wheeled our RV back into the parking lot so that we could stay there in the evenings.  We rented a car and ended up doing some things that wouldn’t have been possible in the RV.  Yesterday, after the visit to the doctor’s office (free wifi!) we went to Mt. Rushmore.

As exciting as seeing the face of dead presidents carved into rock was, the night only got better.  :)  After Mt Rushmore we drove through some crazy winding back roads in the Black Hills National Forest to get to Custer State Park.

We entered with high hopes of seeing wildlife …

… and we were pleasantly surprised!

The whole time we were hoping to see buffalo, and we definitely got our fill!

It seemed like they were all “migrating” to where they were going to bed down for the night.

It was so cool!  These guys were massive!  They also weren’t intimidated by all the vehicles :)

It was late by the time that we finally left the park.  We wanted to go on Needles highway but we didn’t want to attempt that in the dark!

I’m pretty sure we all dreamed about buffalos that night :)
